The Fickle-Finger of Fate

An idea that is not my own, that I pretend is…The Fickle Finger of Fate Award.  This is my chance to give the Finger to a person or group whose accomplishments are too great to go unnoticed.

The US Congress gets the Finger!

THE TEA PARTY
A few weeks ago several Congressmen were on the weekend talk shows suggesting that it is ok to profile Muslims when screening for potential terrorists.  As you probably know, Muslim Terrorists are Muslim, but not all Muslims are Muslim Terrorists.  But Congress says treating all Muslims as though they may be terrorists is ok.

Now last week, congress is screaming bloody murder about the IRS profiling Tea Party members.  And as you may know, White Supremist are members of Tea Party groups; however, not all Tea Party members are White Supremist.

Only now, just a week later, Republican Congressional members are outraged at the idea of profiling a large group to get to a smaller group within that entity.

Although, the week before it was ok…when the people you are profiling have dark skin.

All this is happening on the eve of The New Republican Party that will attract minorities to win elections.

O.K., good luck with that.

Wait there’s more…The IRS person that shamefully resigned as a result of the “scandal” was a Republican Bush appointee.

BENGAZI
In a nutshell, Bengazi was a mistake.  I think the lessons are:  pay attention to warning signs given by military and advisors, move troops or special forces when needed, and don’t pay attention when the Republican Congress throws temper tantrums about the budget…some things just can’t be skimped.

There is a difference between making a mistake, and committing a crime.  Although, committing a crime IS a mistake, not all mistakes are crimes.

Sounds familiar?

Is it even possible for a human to make same error over and over and never learn from it?

Even monkeys eventually learn.  Chickens don’t learn, they literally will make the same error endlessly until they day they die.  For example, if a chicken is behind a fence that is 10 feet long, he may run back and forth pacing a 5 foot distance and never find that the fence ends on either side.  If by chance, he goes too far on one end and gets to the other side, then, if he wants to go back, he’ll have no idea how to do it.  He would again frantically pace back and forth and only be able to succeed by chance.

This is exactly how the Republican Congress behaves.  They frantically run from one topic (scandal if your republican) to the next, making lots of noise, and accomplish nothing, except by accident.  But that only describes behavior, are they actually so unwise, that they can’t muster-up the logic to complete a ten piece puzzle, or do they think the American public is just THAT stupid.

To tell the truth, it’s hard to say.

By the way, the 12 email revisions of the Bengazi incident obtained and reported by ABC news last week…never happened.  Turned out the email revisions were a fabrication described in a faux investigation report, created by House Republicans and pandered to the press.  So the real scandal is who wrote the revisions that Republicans pretended was written by the White House.

Old Mill Toyota gets the Finger!

This is where I use my web presence to sock-it-to someone who did me wrong.

So here’s how it goes down.  Two years ago I need a new car. I’m ready to sign the papers and all of a sudden the F&I guy (finance and insurance) strolls in and says my credit score is 150 points lower than my actual score.  150 points!  I knew he was going to turn around and use that against me, but I had to wait it out.

It was the extended warranty.  He said my credit wasn’t so good; the best we qualified for was six percent.  But if I took the special deal provided by the warranty plan, I could get a 1.5% interest…so three hours later, against my good judgment, I took the warranty and planned to cancel later.

A few weeks later I get the info.  It’s worthless, $4000 to cover windshield wipers and oil changes.  I canceled in writing as required and called the Bank.  I asked them if dropping the extended plan would increase the loan percentage.  He tells me the 1.5% loan was approved by Bank of America and had nothing to do with an extended warranty.

Because of storm damage, I had to replace our v6 Malibu.  I wanted another Toyota, because of the good gas savings, but I got it from a Buick dealer because I will NEVER do business with a company that tries to rip me off, which in my case was Old Mill Toyota in Omaha, NE.  Oh, by the way, my credit at the Buick dealer 150 points higher than what was quoted by Old Mill Toyota.  It’s pretty suspicious when someone comes right out of the gate with lies.
